Hackers caused a financial fever on the rap artist's social networks.

On November 3, rapper Wiz Khalifa's X* social media account posted messages promoting a memecoin called "WIZ". A post claiming that the musician "worked with the team to launch a $WIZ for crypto fans" was soon deleted, but by this time the coin had already attracted the attention of 35.7 million subscribers.

The WIZ crypto coin was launched on the Pump Fun platform, which is based on the Solana blockchain, and reached a peak value of $3.4 million within the first 15 minutes of its launch. However, in less than an hour, the capitalization plummeted to $28 thousand when early investors began selling tokens en masse. Now the price of WIZ is about $8.4 thousand, according to DEX Screener.

According to Solscan, the two largest wallets purchased over 155 million WIZ tokens for $19.1 thousand, selling them with a total profit of $160 thousand.

"Do not buy the Wiz Khalifa token on Pump Fun – this is the same hacker who hacked the account of the creator of Truth Terminal", independent blockchain researcher ZachXBT said in his Telegram channel. The methods of identifying the attacker, as well as the way he gained access to the rapper's account, remain unknown.

Previously, the account of Andy Airey (the creator of Truth Terminal) was also used to promote fraudulent meme coins, which brought the attackers illegal profits of $1.5 million.

At the time of publication, the posts with WIZ ads have already been deleted, but it is unclear whether the rapper was able to restore access to his account.
