Online mostly. As far as swiping cards in store, I haven't seen that in ages. Though oddly enough, there is an exception to that rule. About a 10 minute walk away from my flat there is a movie theatre that swipes all cards (no chip and pin), but they ask for ID with every purchase.

Its very easy to write the tracks. There are a few ways of doing it. If you buy a MSR 206, it often comes with software that you can use to write the tracks. There are also other programs like The Jerm (I think thats what its called) that can be used and work a little better.
