the downside to debits in some areas is when you swipe, it will default to enter your pin number. You will need to have the cashier ring it as credit at that point. This is mostly for self swipe termnals. If your not good at talking then it can be nerve racking at first.

if you have no id then use a prepaid card for your plastic. The ones that say Valued Customer. Once they see that and you tell them its a prepaid card, they will leave you alone.

Im pretty sure that where ever you initially buy the giftcard is who gets screwed. But I got a sense that you want to use these for things for more than merchandise. Remember, where ever you spend theses carded giftcards is still a paper trail back to the carded transaction. so DONT go paying...
