The Antropovsky district prosecutor supported the state prosecution in the criminal case against a 19-year-old local resident. He was found guilty of committing two crimes under Part 2 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal distribution of malicious computer programs).

The court found that the convicted person, in the period from March 2022 to January 2023, distributed malicious software "RedlineStealer" and "RaccoonStealer" on the Internet to steal user registration data (files, logins, passwords), by placing information in the form of a fake (phishing) advertising download link (URL- upec) disguised as a legitimate source.

As a result of his criminal actions, Internet users clicked through fake advertising, received a hidden" infection " with malicious software, and the convicted person illegally obtained their registration data (usernames and passwords) on the Internet, which he later sold.

The man fully admitted guilt in committing the crimes incriminated to him.

The court verdict, taking into account the identity of the defendant, the severity of the crimes committed, imposed a penalty in the form of restriction of liberty for a period of 1 year with additional duties.
